1. About Vaultifier

Vaultifier is an online diary and journal writing platform operated globally. We provide a secure, encrypted digital space for individuals to write private diary entries, create personal journals, and store their thoughts safely. Our platform is available at www.vaultifier.com and through any associated applications we may release.

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of Vaultifier, including all content, features, and services offered on or through the platform.

2. Eligibility

To use Vaultifier you must:

• Be at least 16 years of age
• Provide a valid email address and complete account registration
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in your country of residence
• Not be prohibited from using our services under the laws of your country

By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your account information.

3. Your Account

3.1 Registration

You must register an account to use Vaultifier. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep this information updated at all times.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for keeping your password and account credentials confidential. You must notify us immediately at vaultifier@gmail.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

Vaultifier will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials. If you use zero-knowledge encryption, your encryption key is derived from your password and never stored on our servers. We cannot recover your data if you lose this password.

3.3 One Account Per Person

Each person may register only one free account. Creating multiple accounts to bypass plan limits is prohibited and may result in suspension of all associated accounts.

4. Your Content

4.1 Ownership

Everything you write in Vaultifier belongs to you. Your diary entries, journal notes, and any other content you create on our platform remain your intellectual property at all times. Vaultifier does not claim any ownership over your content.

4.2 Licence to Operate the Service

By storing your content on Vaultifier, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, encrypt, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating and delivering our service to you. This licence does not allow us to read, use, share, or sell your content for any other purpose.

4.3 Your Responsibility for Content

You are solely responsible for all content you write or store on Vaultifier. You agree not to upload, store, or share content that:

• Is illegal under any applicable law
• Infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
• Contains viruses, malware, or any harmful code
• Is obscene, abusive, threatening, or harassing
• Violates the privacy or rights of any other person

While Vaultifier is a private journaling platform, we reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms if it is reported to us or brought to our attention.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Vaultifier only for lawful personal journaling and diary writing purposes. You must not:

• Use the platform to engage in any illegal activity
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our platform or another user’s account
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of our platform
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or interact with our platform without our written permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the security or integrity of the platform
• Attempt to bypass or circumvent our encryption or security systems
• Use our platform to store or distribute commercial spam or unsolicited messages

6. Plans and Payments

6.1 Free Plan

Vaultifier offers a free plan that includes up to 50 diary and journal entries across 3 encrypted vaults. The free plan is available indefinitely with no time limit. No credit card is required to sign up for the free plan.

6.2 Premium Plan

The Premium plan is available at $5.99 per month and provides unlimited entries, unlimited vaults, import and export of your data in JSON and HTML formats, zero-knowledge encryption, priority support, and access to advanced features. Premium is billed monthly in advance.

6.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to Premium features until that date. We do not provide partial refunds for unused portions of a billing period.

6.4 Refunds

If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us at vaultifier@gmail.com within 14 days of the charge. We will review each request on a case-by-case basis.

6.5 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. We will provide at least 30 days notice before any price increase takes effect for existing Premium subscribers. Continued use of the Premium plan after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

7. Encryption and Data Access

Vaultifier offers two encryption modes:

• Normal Security: Encryption keys are generated and managed securely on our servers. We can decrypt your content if technically necessary to deliver the service.
• Zero-Knowledge Encryption: In this mode, your password is processed entirely on your device using PBKDF2 with 100,000 iterations of SHA-256, followed by HKDF to derive your AES-256 encryption key. Your master key is kept non-extractable in your browser and is never sent to our servers. Your entries are encrypted locally using AES-256-GCM before they leave your device. We store only encrypted data and cryptographically wrapped key material. Because we never receive your password or usable master key, we cannot access, recover, or decrypt your entries in this mode.

If you use zero-knowledge encryption and lose your password, your data cannot be recovered by Vaultifier. We strongly recommend keeping a secure record of your password in a separate location.

8. Data Export and Portability

You may export your diary entries and journal content in JSON or HTML format through your account settings. Import and export are Premium features. Your data is always yours to take with you.

9. Account Termination

9.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

When you delete your account, your account is placed into a deleted state and is no longer accessible for normal use. Your account and associated data are retained so that your account can be restored.

To restore your deleted account, you may contact us and request restoration. Upon successful verification, we may restore your account and associated data to an active state.

Deleting your account does not permanently remove your account or associated data from our servers.

9.2 By Vaultifier

We reserve the right to suspend, disable, or delete your account if we have reasonable grounds to believe that you have violated these Terms and Conditions, misused the Service, or engaged in activity that may compromise the security or integrity of Vaultifier or its users.

If your account is suspended, disabled, or deleted by Vaultifier, you will no longer be able to access or use your account, including logging in, until the applicable restriction is lifted or the account is otherwise restored, where restoration is available.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before suspending, disabling, or deleting your account, unless doing so is not possible or appropriate due to the nature or severity of the violation.

Suspension, disabling, or deletion by Vaultifier does not necessarily mean that your account or stored data is immediately or permanently removed from our servers. Account and data retention will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable legal obligations.

Where appropriate, you may contact us regarding a suspension, disabling, or deletion of your account.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Vaultifier is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we work to keep the platform running smoothly and securely, we do not guarantee:

• That the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
• That the Service will be free from bugs, viruses, malware, or other harmful components.
• That any specific feature or functionality will remain available indefinitely.
• That the Service or any stored data will be completely secure or immune from unauthorised access, loss, or other security incidents.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vaultifier and its owners, operators, employees, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service will not exceed the total amount you paid to Vaultifier during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Third-Party Services

Vaultifier may use third-party services to help operate our platform, including payment processors and infrastructure providers. These third parties are contractually obligated to handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law. We do not sell your data to any third party.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by email or by displaying a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Vaultifier after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international law. As Vaultifier operates globally, we aim to comply with the legal requirements of all jurisdictions in which our users reside, including but not limited to the European Union (GDPR), the United Kingdom (UK GDPR), and the United States (CCPA/CPRA).
